Jeff Beck, Chief Executive Officer

Jeff BeckJeff is a successful operating executive and board member with a track record of transforming and scaling industrial technology businesses by synchronizing organic growth, acquisitions, operational excellence, and talent development. Prior to joining Soft Robotics as Executive Chairman, Jeff was President and CEO of Astrodyne TDI, a PE-owned leader in high-performance power supply solutions that enable mission-critical systems in medical, semiconductor, aerospace, military and automation industries. Jeff sparked new product developments, market expansions, operational efficiencies, and share gain at strategic accounts ultimately resulting in a lucrative exit for shareholders.

Previously, Jeff was Chief Operating Officer with iRobot Corporation, (NASDAQ: IRBT). There he architected and implemented strategies that accelerated revenues, expanded margins, and quadrupled the corporation’s market value. Before joining iRobot, Jeff worked at AMETEK Corporation as SVP/GM, of the Aerospace & Defense Division and as VP/GM of AMETEK’s Power Systems & Instruments Division.  He developed many of his business leadership skills serving as a Division President with Danaher Corporation. Earlier in Jeff’s career, he spent ten years with Emerson Electric Corporation progressing through increasing levels of responsibility in engineering, sales, and general management.

Jeff is currently an Operating Partner at Artemis Capital Partners, serves as Executive Chairman of Adcole Corporation, and is a director with inTest Corporation (NASDAQ: INTT). Previously he served as a director of Sun Edison Semiconductor (NASDAQ: SEMI) and was on the board of advisors for New Jersey Institute of Technology. Jeff holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology and an MBA from Boston University.

Mark Chiappetta, Chief Operating Officer/Chief Technology Officer

Mark Chiappetta

Mark is a high-energy professional with over 25 years of experience in high growth start-ups as well as mid-sized, publicly traded companies. He is an exemplary executive leader, a pragmatic operating professional dedicated to building and growing new, innovative businesses, and a robotics subject matter expert with over 30 issued and numerous additional pending patents in the field.

Before joining Soft Robotics in 2016, Mark held the SVP Engineering and Product Development role at BionX Medical Technologies and prior to that spent more than 15 years at iRobot Corporation (NASDAQ: IRBT).

At iRobot, he served in a variety of technical and leadership roles with his last being Vice President of the Advanced Systems and Technology group – the front-end innovation engine for the entire corporation. Earlier in his career, Mark worked alongside Joseph F. Engelberger, known worldwide as the “Father of Robotics” to expand the field of robotics beyond factory applications and into service industries.  Mark is a former U.S. Navy Officer, has a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, and has undertaken graduate coursework at NYU-Poly.

Mike Bassett, Vice President of Engineering

Mike is a Subject Matter Expert of New Product Development in the field of Robotics and Automation. He has over 35 years of proven technical leadership in the transformation of cutting-edge concepts to completed product and holds several patents. Before joining Soft Robotics, Mike worked at iRobot for 17 years in the Roomba division and Bomb Disposal Robot division. He has held leadership roles including Director of Systems Engineering, Chief Engineer, System Architect and Technical Director.

Harley Green, Vice President of Sales

As Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, Harley is responsible for supporting the organization’s strategic direction and identifying and capturing new business in the primary food and consumer packaged goods automation industry.

With more than 15 years in the automation industry, Harley has diverse functional expertise with proven ability to quickly analyze and develop strategies to grow the business in multiple, complex markets.

As his primary focus is on robotics, sensors, machine safety and machine vision, Harley also has automation experience in the pharma, plastics, metals, electronics, and medical devices industry.  Harley has been a guest speaker at several conferences and trade events related to food, automation, and packaging.

Michelle Toolin, Vice President of Finance and Accounting

Michelle is an energetic, hands-on professional with a proven track record of establishing the finance and accounting function in a fast-paced start-up environment.  She brings over 25 years of experience in building teams, streamlining processes through implementation of systems, managing relationships with key partners and overseeing HR, IT and Operations functions.  Michelle’s start-up experiences have spanned various industries including medical devices, equipment distribution and sustainable flame-retardant solutions.  Previously, Michelle served as CFO of New England Car Wash Equipment for seven years.  She was involved with every aspect of the company from its formation to its acquisition in 2017.  Michelle holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting from Boston College.
